Re-reading this again and I have to say the entire Kan Ki arc bores the absolute tits off me. Its definitely the low point of the series for me. It's not as if the series had shyed away from showing the ugly side of war but it just felt gratuitous here. I suppose it doesnt help that I find Kan Ki boring as a character.
