After a cursory Google search, it's very clear that "flat battery" is distinctly British terminology (possibly also Australian, but the top 20 sites I found were all UK), and based on the times you posted, there's a good chance that's where you're from. Maybe you should instead educate yourselves that languages have regional differences that someone from a different locale may not be familiar with?

@seekermoc No mah dood, I'm not from England, however they taught me the difference between british english and american english some 20 years ago. You know, color-colour, pants-trousers, shit like that. It seems to me the other guy and me (as in: we) knew this term, and you dont, so I dont think we are the ones in need of more education, not like anyone is imo. You just wanted to correct the TL, and we corrected you, that's all.

Also, there were never any mention what are the term's origins, and it does not really matter, but if anything, it shows the translator's preference, which if you don't like, you can learn japanese any time and do a better job. Or work, hehehe. (This was a joke btw, I think translators are mostly welcoming advices to their translations if it's done in a normal tone)

All in all, it's a valid term, that was the gist of it. Don't get so offended, this is a great place to pick up on new words and terms, even if you don't use them... ever.

Maybe next time don't be a smart alec and say stuff like

Nope, not in the context of a battery's charge. Soda goes flat, so do tires, but batteries die.

If you're aware that different languages exist, maybe do some research yourself before trying to sound smart. You're just making a fool out of yourself. Also nice assumption, but nope I'm not from UK. Not even close. As a matter of fact I speak better American English than British English.

Why would you think I was trying to correct the translation? I never said it was incorrect, I fully realized this was probably a valid expression from another region, it's just one I've never heard before. I thought it was interesting, so I commented about it. I quite literally prefaced my comment by saying that I learned something new from it.

Edit: The scanlation group I proofread for sometimes uses UK spellings, as our other PR is an Aussie, so it's not like I have any problems with this group's preferences. I do have a problem with people who don't understand what I'm saying, and decide to lead off with insults instead of discussion. (Though admittedly, the direct insults came from Xystus, not you, although I included both of you in my response)

@Xystus
@ReaperCreeper asked me if I've really never heard the term before, so I replied that I've heard similar expressions about other things, but never this specific one. If he understood this differently than I intended, I'm sure he could have replied to me himself. I doubt he needs you to come to his defense for some slight that you imagined.

Nah i think all Asians look alike is a white stereotype that whites believe in. Wouldnt make sense to reverse the stereotype if ppl in Japan didnt know bout it

@destinyfvcker be patient, the series is ending and we are in the part when the secondary heroines get their closure before the happy ending for the main couple.
