THIS.
I know this chapter might FEEL like an end if it were a normal shounen/shoujo manga to you people, but this is a josei manga and like deff_08 said, a new chapter JUST came out. IT'S NOT OVER! Quit trying to give it a funeral. Sheesh......
There is no new chapter yet. This is the latest ch :)
Next official release is scheduled for Oct 17th

These two are a mess, but that’s what makes them fascinating. They don’t wish harm on each other and know how they’re likely to hurt themselves in the future.

But Fuyuki loves Eri so much, and Eri holds Fuyuki dear in her heart, they still want to make it work. They want to try, leading up to the new layer of their relationship. I love these two disasters.

Also high-key hoping we get at least one intimate scene between Eri and Fuyuki!

Thank you so much for the translation! Was updating MD everyday for this!

"Just keep loving me and give attention to me. Even if it kills you inside. I might turn gay someday and return your feelings, you never know" <- this is what Eri essentially said.

I know. That's exactly why this relationship really grosses me out.

Fuyuki had better pray that there's no one in the world who could actually make Eri fall in love LOL

Yes... I know NOW. The point I was trying to make is still valid. It's not over...
I've been telling her (Kyowli/Isa) this since we started working on 21, we still got more to cover and it would be hard to finish in just the last few chapters we have of this volume.

well, we know what will be the ending from chapter 1, but this type of relation will never work in real life.
guess the author wants to give us a happy ending, but after those heavy drama, happy ending seems to be so much forced
You're missing the true lesson here, this is more about the core love lesson to EVERY romantic relationship, or even platonic relationships, most people in relationships end theirs cause they're afraid of hurting the other person, instead of trying to fight for their relationship, to work through hurt and conflicts with their significant other

So the sentence of "even if we may hurt each other badly, i still want us to be together" is the confession about how she's willing to fight for Fuyuki and their relationship instead of living in the fear, it's a really meaningful and important confession that people in romantic relationship need so bad but find it hard to say or do

I keep saying the same thing over and over, but I think my favorite part is that Eri didn't just go "oh I do actually love you, after all! It's totally the same kind, and I realize that now after all that hard thinking I done did."

Nope - she's fully aware that she doesn't understand the exact type of love that Fuyuki has for her. But, she understands that it's there and that it's real, and that she and Fuyuki care about each other just as much, if not in exactly the same manner.

And to reiterate on the same point I've made elsewhere - I think that might be good enough, in their singular case.
Fuyuki makes Eri's world brighter. Even if Eri never actually initiates a kiss or an "I love you", she'll respond completely to Fuyuki whenever the latter does or says the same. It might be less important to "label or define" what Eri feels for Fuyuki, than it is for them both to understand and internalize that the label or definition is secondary to the fact that the intensity and depth of her feelings for Fuyuki are undeniably real.

And I think that their decision to pursue something together, even if it might hurt them both at some point in the future, is beautiful, and authentic to their characters this whole way through.
"just because we enjoy the same things, doesn't mean we're alike" funny words but getting proved to be true everyday

i'm gonna be crazily lonely and insane if there aint a comment section, and people like you and others that thankfully get what the story really wants to say, because those words from the girls are indeed so beautiful and real

If I heard about this relationship irl I'd guess it would crash and burn.
this relationship is actually everywhere around you, darling, this story is a simplified and carefully crafted talk about the hardship in most human relationships, it's basically the question of "are you willing to work through hurt and conflicts with this person?", either it's between friends, family, lovers,... as long as it's a relationship among human, you're all bound to hurt the other person one way or another

Right. And yes you're right these sorts of relationships are all around me, and I can say that most friendships or romantic relationships I've seen have had expiration dates. I just saw people in these comments talking about the stability of this relationship, and said that we know it will last even if I would be sceptical irl.

Waiting for a plot twist where she ends up with senpai. :smugnako:
I know some would definitely want that to happen, lol

Me? I like where things are going, but I want to see a messy dating phase that tests them and helps turn it into something more stable.

If that doesn't happen? The "worst kind of love" ending is still on the table. (Referencing the one shot Koinega developed from)

Yes, that's why this story is born, to talk about why they had expiration dates, simply because most people are cowards, or because their problems are too complicated to face or fix.

I just saw people in these comments talking about the stability of this relationship, and said that we know it will last even if I would be sceptical irl.
It makes perfect sense when people want to believe in a relationship where 2 people communicate clearly about their feelings and see each other so important that they want to give themselves a chance to fight for it, to work through things instead of ignoring and living with it, and losing each other for good without even trying.

About whether or not they will last forever, I don't think that's the point this story wants to convey.

This story does not want to ship characters into a relationship, it wants to tell a story about human relationships through characters, so it makes perfect sense when you feel skeptical about these two girls' relationship too, because they've successfully represented a realistic human relationship, a thing that's soooo unpredictable.

Good communication relationships have a better chance at lasting than bad communication relationships, but that still doesn't guarantee a happy forever, cause real human is just unpredictable as heck.

It doesn't have to last forever. It just has to last 50-60 years. :p

More seriously... look, the two of them are already practically soulbonded in every way except sex. Eri has always put Fuyuki above her actual boyfriends. Getting laid with senpai did not divert Fuyuki's feelings at all. They can barely stand to be apart.

The only doubt is whether Fuyuki will get a satisfying sex life. And it's a big doubt. But we don't know. As I said, I haven't re-read the earlier chapters much, but my impression is that Eri kept breaking up because of her prioritizing Fuyuki, not because her boys thought she was a cold fish. Granted, maybe boys had low standards. OTOH, maybe Fuyuki would be happy with a grope-and-grind girlfriend. Or maybe Eri blossoms in bed. Or maybe Fuyuki-chan will be interested in lesbian brothels, with permission. There are a lot of ways the relationship could realistically succeed.

It's quite interesting to bring up that she gave the same speech to Kyou, but then twist it when its Fuyuki to push the "she's not actually gay" angle. Like she's not straight either by these same standards and measures, but at least she's far more open and honest about the situation when it's fuyuki.

Like people also forget when the Senpai says that she's not even really into women like fuyuki is, and just label her as the 'correct, actually gay' option here.
