If one absolutely needs to react/reply to trolls, not just ignore them like you'd normally do, the professional way is to thank them for their time and attention, in an impersonal way. That's obviously not what trolls want to achieve.

Yeeeeeeaaah... I empathize when it comes to dealing with trolls, but telling someone to "delete yourself" is gonna bring some warranted backlash.

But then again, Japanese is a very context-heavy language. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a word specifically for "delete (like deleting your account)" that wouldn't be a euphemism like it is in English.

After talking to oji-san, I thought she was going to fire back a "Thank you for your time and hard work." Weaponized politeness is nearly guaranteed to piss off haters and trolls.

When I worked customer care, the nastier a customer got, the more syrupy sweet I got. Sooo many would get pissed and hang up or demand a supervisor. Either way, they were off my line.
