The goddess which is likely an AI from a old crashed ship. My theory is, due to lack of equipment the goddess has revised and scattered its old nanoms to make every living being in the planet evolve by developing a psionic control organ, which allows magic, as a form of anti-bug plan, and there are people with specific magic frequency that the goddess can 'speak' to.

Alan's fking cancer is shit plot tho. Whatever the poison that he was given some chapters ago, when broken down was definitely the goddess's nanoms, mixing with new nanoms was definitely the cause of magic liver cancer. Making Alan's body and nanoms are compromised as a hostage as the goddess contacts him sound dumb in many ways.

the thing I don't like about this is the withholding of information. By that I mean, the protagonist getting information in a fucking puzzle. You a higher being is contacting ME to do your bidding, the least you could do is give me clear instructions/information of the task at hand. not to mention, when it's time for the critical info they give you the old "ahh looks like we ran out of time" mf are you serious

Usually this is a sign of poor writing. They drip-feed you info pretending to be mysterious when none of the points are properly interlinking and you get random reveals out of nowhere. Then they resort to deus ex machina to resolve problems.
