Actually it is uncomfortable. And also uncontrollable. I've experienced this a few times, and while I was at work.

I've searched about this phenomenon and it seems like it is caused by having both sleepiness and erection being controlled by what is called the parasympathetic nervous system. If you get relaxed or sleepy, as a side effect you can get erections.

It actually goes away easily if you, for example, walk it off or stand and stretch a bit.

Though the trouble is when you stand up hopefully no one notices. And in my case, a girl sits beside me, so it WILL become an issue (sexual harassment, anyone?).
