This is the type of situation where I use the expression, "Age is just a number." It doesn't actually mean anything. Usually gets even worse when it comes to non-human-aged characters.

Sometimes it makes sense, often it doesn't.

Don't you mean 17-37 year olds behaving like they were 7 year olds. 'least that is what I am observing with (social) media exposure nowadays.

I think it goes both ways. I have met some 'adults' acting like children because of social media and I also have met children age 10 and under who behaves maturely because of social media and they know so much it makes me baffled.
