that reminds me -
It's funny that Otobe's first and second interactions with Keisuke were him making an absolute ass of himself, calling her a primary schooler, then a middle schooler, and then assuming she was a crossdressing boy and expressing outright shock every time she yelled her correction at him. Literally her parting words upon their first interaction were "you suck, dude."
But even though "he's dense and tactless at times", she likes him now because he's straightforward and has helped her once or twice - y'know, the usual formula we see so often that inexplicably makes the girl fall in love with the dense and awkward male protagonist.
And yet - Keisuke's trajectory of developing feelings for Kusunoki isn't all that different. She was continuously only wanting to hang out with him, wanted no other male friends but him, was very blunt in her interactions and wording about things that he repeatedly "took it the wrong way" and grew so conscious of her (as it's often phrased in school-age manga) that he developed feelings for her out of his perception of how she was acting toward him all on his own. She wasn't flirting, she wasn't trying having feelings for him, she's just obtuse and doesn't get "how she should act toward a boy" and Keisuke let himself run away from himself.
So he and Otobe have effectively done the same thing, and Kusunoki is as dense and oblivious as Keisuke is, and this is why I think Hebikawa should win because she's savvy enough and confident enough to just go out and grab her man without the usual preamble of freaking out over every little thing.
"my crush crush"does this mean kusunoki will realize she likes keisuke? or will this end up as an awkward love triangle where kusunoki supports otobe who likes keisuke who likes kusunoki? either way as long as hebikawa isn't involved i’m happy
oh yeah, I considered going back and making that a separate bit because it's very much a personal editorial tacked onto the end of what was supposed to be a simple, straightforward analysis comment.I was agreeing with you until your conclusion
It is probably just a desperate need of "something" happening instead of having yet another 200 chapter slop that doesn't go anywhere. Snek has the most potential to dynamite the status quo. Be it romantic or otherwise. Because, as this chapter showcased, this can't get any more generic. At this point, I can't tell if the snake shippers are being ironic or are genuine or it's an elaborate performance piece. It's always entertaining at least!
if we get another Botan, I'm not gonna complaingo for the tomboy
Such a rare thing to happen in romcoms that it is still used as the sole example of a great achievement by the genre. Such a simple thing (a runner up to grab the win, pretty naturally as well) but almost nonexistent. There is also Kokoro Connect which will never have a second season because of the retarded voice cast and the director.if we get another Botan, I'm not gonna complain

I would say Ichigo 100% also did it, as the main heroine the author was always trying to make Aya, but it wasn't the same in the end as the MC dated Tsukasa most of the series in the end (and that manga was more harem in the end)Such a rare thing to happen in romcoms that it is still used as the sole example of a great achievement by the genre.
