I'd honestly bet on Hebikawa being hip to the fact they were followed - either by Kusunoki, or Otobe doing recon for Kusunoki, and that she didn't actually kiss him, but is taking advantage of appearances to fuck with "the perfect one" as is her plan.

At present, I think she actually is "interested" in Keisuke, but her primary goal is still making Kusunoki "show the darkness" - hence that smirk she gives Kusunoki as she follows Keisuke after popping up on them in the hallway. Given it was the ending of the chapter, and the very specific "POV" of them under the overhang in the rain with an ambiguous moment between them, I think they're being watched.

Also - props to Kusunoki I guess for trying to fully remove herself from the equation so as to not "repeat history", but it's going to fail because she's just removing herself, instead of being clear.

All she'd have to say is "I want to remain friends, I don't want to date you", and leave it at that. If Keisuke actually cares, he won't get pissed or sulky or petty about it. What she's currently doing, tells me she doesn't trust him enough to handle it maturely, and so instead she's just running away - which will solve nothing, and the fact that she doesn't realize that, is only going to actually hurt at least two of the three of them (her, Kesiuke, Otobe).
Which is why I'm glad Hebikawa is here, because as I've said before - she's the reason this feels novel, and not like School Kid Romance Triangle Manga #0152412.

That said - it is a bit weird, that for once we have two primary characters sharing the "dumbass MC" title between them. Kusunoki makes sense because she's the protagonist, but Keisuke being the "lens" character and deutreragonist, is still pulling his weight with the oblivious label (though not nearly to the degree I'd expect of him, surprisingly).
