heh
Possible. I personally lean to the theory that while she does genuinely love him/have a crush on him, she is an incredibly sheltered girl with little to terribly bad social skills, thinking that life is literally a romance manga causing her to act like a literal manga character to her crush, unknowingly traumatzing him and driving him away from her, all the while she fully and sincerely believes that she's still ahead of the race and they're nearly an official couple. It’s quite astonishing how many people gaslit themselves into believing that Hebikawa is after Keisuke because she genuinely likes him. She doesn’t. She’s only after him because she wants to get to Kusunoki; her worldview simply can’t acknowledge the existence of someone like Kusunoki.
What do you have against Otobe???Ewwww gross, fuck outta here bitch
I'm pretty sure some people actually believe that. I've seen it time and time again in the comments. I get that it's a common trope, but that doesn't really defend her actions. Even if she ends up catching real feelings later, it doesn't change the fact that she started with bad intentions. 'How it's going' doesn't erase 'how it started.' Those are two different things, and the latter still matters. The trope might explain where the story could be heading, but it doesn't justify ignoring what Hebikawa originally tried to do. So I'm honestly not sure what you're trying to argue at this point. Are you saying the malice doesn't matter because the outcome might be cute? Or are you just describing the plot without defending it?
I really have a hard time seeing how the mangaka will change this without being forced, since she doesn't seem to have romantic feelingsside girls fightings, while main heroine oblivious, lmao
I never said she can't change. That is not my point at all. What I actually said is that the change doesn't erase the start. Those are two different things, and the distinction matters. You are acting like I am arguing for eternal punishment, but I am not. I am arguing that origins have weight. You cannot just skip past how something began because you like where it might be heading. So are you saying she's not allowed to change for the better or gain an improved reputation simply because she did bad shit in the past?
I absolutely would argue Hebikawa won't "win the Keisuke Bowl", nor should she as things stand, but it's not because she was a bad person in the past.
If she puts in the work to change and accepts responsibility for what she did before, there's no reason to eternally persecute her for things she can't undo.
And that sentiment is one that I see all over the forums when it comes to characters with checkered pasts in various series, that I'd argue is actively harmful both as a sentiment in reality and as a means of better one's ability to critically analyze and critique a given written work.
those must lost alwaysAt this point I'm kinda rooting for moe. Even if I know its not real and isn't even on the table. It's better than snake or miss fumble around for 20 chapters.
bro rent-a shit is there for an eternty and meep selling..all authors will see this as a greem light to do the sameI don't care anymore...
Just give Hebikawa the win. She's the only one trying. Regardless of all the stuff prior, I think she should make the move first and it'll probably work itself out in the end.
Because otherwise, we're regressing too much at such a pace we might as well be in a time machine.
