This manga is a lot like Komi-san can't communicate, but instead of being the class goddess, you actually have to worry about Kusunoki being liked or disliked by her classmates.

This manga is definitely high-school slice of life distilled to its bare tropes. It's so on the nose it almost becomes a parody of itself.

Another weird thing about it is that despite being classified as a josei, it has far too many elements and design choices you usually see in shounen/seinen mangas.

Why tf is this josei. Just because of the title? Maybe the editor forced the male main character in.

Right. Clearly she's not innocent whatsoever, maybe they misinterpreted the ending of the chapter. She had planned to ambush Kusonoki with her friends.

after spending the day with Kusonoki she denies reality because she thinks Kusonoki can't be genuine.
The redemption arc will probably come but this is not the setup for it.

Personally i hope the redemption arc never comes and she stays a cunt untill the end

Kinda yeah. I'd rather see her the same way she is now. It wouldn't really be a good rival if she suddenly started to be nice. I kinda prefer to have that drama
