It’s translated into Spanish up to chapter 31 on Tumangaonline :win:
I'll be honest, I went there to see the next chap of this, and ended up seeing chap 37 of Tsumiki instead.

The english comments are gonna go ballistic with fury next chap.

Ok NOW I'm gonna go read the next chap of Snek vs Gyaru

Yeah, and I'd say she's aware of it and this her just pointing that out. It doesn't even come off as harsh or rude tbh, just "hey you know that's not really me, right?"
That doesn't make it right, though? What was the point you were trying to make? That it's ok for you to lie and deceive people if you tell them later that you were lying to and deceiving them...?

What did she do again to make him traumatized...?

Literally nothing. He eavesdropped on her talking smack (like kids do) with her friends one time and it causes his idealized made up image of her in his head to be destroyed. Not like she personally bullied him for years or even insulted him to his face in front of others. He just over hears something he shouldn’t have

Well-handled by Hebikawa. Teenagers need to learn that the things that they think of as a big deal often aren't, and being shit-talked by someone you had a crush-on falls into that category. People shouldn't be mean, but that's a pretty minor transgression in the big scheme of things. She did the right thing by simply opting to distance herself from Shizuki going forward.

On the other hand, telling Hebikawa not to spend time with Kusunoki is clearly out-of-bounds by Shizuki.

Feels like people are just lashing out at other commentors or something instead reacting to the actual manga
Seems par for the course now lol the "ex-girlfriend needs a place to stay" manga discussions are even worse.

I think people are getting too wrapped up in who is "in the right" in this story and missing the whole point. I don't think MC is a pathetic loser and I don't think Hebikawa is a total bitch.

Like, the only thing she's guilty of is being fake. It's not a "good" trait to have in every day life but it's not "evil", shit everyone who works in the service industry has to fake it a little bit every time they interact with customers.

The point I'm trying to make is that she was nice to him to keep up appearances but nothing she did was overtly hostile or malicious; her comment that crushed his feelings was callous indifference at worst. Him falling in love with her and getting sad about it was entirely his own doing. It's no different from the cashier at your grocery store smiling and being nice to you every week and feeling devastated when you learn she's married and does not in fact think about you at all outside of the 2 minute interactions you have at her job.

She isn't just fake, she is a psychopath. Look at her interactions with Kusunoki. Highly manipulative, non existent empathy and domineering.

Ok I'm back from reading the spanish chaps.

Holy fuck this is heading into some dark stuff all of a sudden, Hebi's past may end up giving this story a red tag if it's not just bait

Literally check chapter 1, its pretty just the first 2-3 pages ...

And thats it, not some machiavellian plot, she acted nice to him because she acting nice made her look good since, you know, acting like a underage TikTok is the peak social behavior.

Also notice page 16-17 were she notices his distress and reassures him, clearly very from the pages of The Prince, who can stop such a evil creature ...

IMO she could stand to have a bit more empathy but it's not non-existent, if it was she wouldn't have been nice to or forgiven MC after he threw up on her. I knew girls in high school who would go scorched earth if that happened to them.

People like to use psychopath and sociopath all the time when those are clinical definitions that rarely apply. She's just incredibly self-centered and shallow, which is unfortunate but very mundane. Not evil, not good, just true neutral. I wouldn't like her IRL but she makes for an entertaining foil to Kusunoki, who is effortlessly popular and attractive in spite of her inner dork.

I think she may be engaging in compensated dating with pedo older men, but just that hopefully, I doubt she is engaging in full on prostitution, would be way too much of a dark jump for this story. Compensated dating gets the message across still without going too crazy.

He literally puked because she was close, that is not a "trauma" with quotes
That's not a valid reason whatsoever, what actually triggers that puking?

Her being close is not an explanation, never in my entire life has a woman made me puke just because she was "close", only valid reason that would happen is if she smelled horrendously

I highly doubt that's the case with Hebikawa

Of course she doesn't owe it to him to be nice. But don't be nice to someone and then talk shit about them behind their back. That makes you a shitty two-faced person.

I'm not saying she's a super villain; of course she isn't. But all these comments of "dude she's really not that bad", what? This chapter has just reinforced what we already knew, that she was two-faced in middle school. Whether the MC's trauma or extreme reactions to her are justified is a totally different issue. The fact is, she was two-faced towards him in middle school. And she's not apologising for that. She said it herself that she doesn't even remember what she said. So she was two-faced and considers that such unremarkable behaviour that it's not worth remembering. Definitely a much shittier person than Kusunoki, and worse than MC.
Those extreme reactions and trauma are not justified at all, like I said before, Shizuki needs to get his shit together

Probably the anxiety from just being close to her.

I’ve had similar reactions (nothing even close to vomiting tho) when Ex’s I want nothing to do with suddenly message me and I’ve also handled some of those situations immaturely

I just hope he’s able to find a way to heal from this trauma and move on cause honestly I got second hand embarrassment with the way he handled this interaction.

Hopefully next chapter his fellow high school debutant can help him find solace

Hebikawa did him a great service. Better realize sooner that life doesn't resolve around you and your teenage angst is only a big deal to you.
Ah yes, teenage angst. Teenage angst is when you’re traumatized from being isolated and mocked by your peers during some of the most important developmental years of your life and the ONE person that treated you like a person and dared to think of as a friend proceeds to insult and demean you in front of her friends, revealing that you were just a step stone to her social reputation all while looking you dead in the eye as she says it.
