Omg this whole time I was so confused about Ri Shu's head maid. If she was the one who tried to kill her, why did she remain head maid??? I've reread it like three times and I finally get it now.
I know it's not gonna happen, but I wish the emperor would let Ri Shu go. Shit life she's living right now, & I'd like to hope the emperor doesn't have any interest in someone he watched grow up (unlikely but I can dream). I also could not imagine being catty to a little girl, even if she was in the position I wanted to be in, I'd feel bad because it's clearly affecting her negatively, and hating on a kid would make me feel stupid. They're also dumb because it would also be so easy to make her your pawn. she'd be so easy to groom into whatever you want since she has no one else to rely on and would probably become unhealthily attached to anyone who treats her well. Play the long game people!
Jinshi does have quite a bit of work: oversight of concubine quarters, review of pending laws/bills, ritual duties. Maomao's puzzle solving abilities (esp for medical/food related matters) is much better than his, so he brings her in, and then assists her, or assigns others to assist her.Accurate workplace representation where the employee (Maomao) does 95% of the work while the supervisor (Jinshi) just stands there with his hand on his chin. I guess he also dispersed the crowd too.
Yes... That's why I said "I finally get it now." because I understand what's going on...She turned over a new leaf hence she’s she’s now the head maid. What she did was bullying but when she was set straight by Maomao, she had a change of heart
IDK, but just my understanding/speculation:Not looking for spoilers really, but is there anything preventing Li Shu from purging her maid roster and starting fresh? Clearly only the one admonished by Mao Mao is the only one who actually halfway cares for her.
This is kind of what I feel about any case where people bully someone weaker. Who's so insecure that they feel better about themselves for bullying someone who has no chance of fighting back? It just shows how weak you are for resorting to that kind of target.hating on a kid would make me feel stupid.
A cat that was scared by a 'frog'You have angered the cat.
Heads rolling? As a LN reader I'm looking forward to the next chapter
Thanks for the TL!
Nothing would prevent her (except standard and having to "train" the new maid roster) but you have to realised that Li shu is still a kid at barely 12 y/o here meaning she hasn't really developed enough mentally to know when ppl need to be replaced and who has ill will for themNot looking for spoilers really, but is there anything preventing Li Shu from purging her maid roster and starting fresh? Clearly only the one admonished by Mao Mao is the only one who actually halfway cares for her.
They can but they first have to comprehend that they were being mistreated by them and a professional gaslighter like the previous head maid won't really have trouble doing that with a 12 y/o kid. And if the concubine doesn't want to replace them and there's no direct showing of mistreatment why would they replace her)Can't consort change their maids and servants ?
Jinshi caused the problem too (the crowd), too realAccurate workplace representation where the employee (Maomao) does 95% of the work while the supervisor (Jinshi) just stands there with his hand on his chin. I guess he also dispersed the crowd too.
She is, but she also a child of what... 9 y/o, 11 y/o? She was sheltered and probably barely got enough education, if at all, to be consort. As stated in this and previous episodes, she did not recognized her own situation. Like a child in abusive household, if you never experience anything else, how else would you know your living situation was not "right." Also, the current emperor never visited her.Isn't Lishu a major concubine to the fricking Emperor??? How is this random maid's head still connected to her neck?
Spoil me.
Heads rolling?
It really is no big deal. It's as others here have remarked, the consort would have to make the decision about punishing/replacing a maid unless she commit a crime or something. But Jinshi will react in a very Jinshi-esque way, showing the maid her place and reading it was quite satisfying to see Jinshi nonchalantly stomping the maid's feet, if only verbally. Unlike Mao Mao he can't simply go around and slap maids xDDid CatCat slap and beat the hell out of those bitches of attendants of Li Shu?
