Re: page 20, I don't know the original Japanese wording, but maybe the idea is that the door was blocked via shelves on both sides for interior design reasons, like to ensure there would be separate guest rooms? So it's not necessarily a secret shortcut, but rather just something the inn owners did for some reason, but forgot to inform the guards about, which is why Maomao can use it as an escape route.

Why is one named/written Shi Sui and other Sui Rei. If they are sisters, Sui should be surname(as it is same for both), no?

Her birth mother cut her pinky off as a toddler to send to her birth father along with her own (pinky is where the "red thread of fate" is connected). Fortunately for MaoMao, hers grew back.
