Well that's currently the easiest fucking thing to do in this manga. Just distract the MC for like 2 seconds and you can do whatever you want with the bride. Though you can't harm her since, plot armour as thick as a mountain, but still.

She's actually a really interesting character. She knew what was at stake, and wanted it because she so desperately wanted to be cared about and loved, cause her family didn't give that to her at all. They were willing to get her killed so that his family would owe theirs a political favor.

She saw his grief for his family as proof of love, and even though she would die she knew his grief would be for her, too. Allowing her to be remembered, to for something to exist to prove that she mattered. As she's facing death here, she laments that she's just never had a place to be, never had somewhere she belonged.

The levity here is great, too; instantly being defeated by the 5 years remark. There's really great characterization in here, anyone we've spent time with has been wonderful. It's a bummer that this is in such a crowded genre, cause it's really great!
