You know you're not the protagonist, and since you know the story I can understand thinking: the protagonist is going to be the hero.

But at least try to be a supporter, a friend, an ally. All those things are fine. Be the protagonist of YOUR life while trying to help the good guys.

i don't think they're copying that, at least not directly
probably copying a shonen copy of that

also, while "lack of imagination" is right, it's not always bad to copy a bit of worldbuilding from other stuff
of course, it has to make sense, and you can't just copy everything 10 : 9.8, gotta have your own flare to it
(unless you're making a sort of "love letter" to an obscure genre of manga, though i doubt there're any obscure genres anymore)

I would prefer/enjoy if a this one as well as other MCs let their plan be known to the female maid(IN ITS ENTIRETY so no misconceptions could be made) then you could have a comedic duo trying to get the Game MC together with the Game Heroines.

The MC and Maid get closer while the “Game Leads” get closer. There could be a moment(s) where the heroines find out what MC has been doing or is trying to do which could lead to any number of outcomes.

For example:
1) hate him and vow vengeance on him leading to the game’s pseudo-original outcome

2) lead to them questioning if they actually like Game MC or is it fabricated by MC

3) start to see MC in a different light leading to cliche of liking him

4) heroines thanking MC and possibly asking him for his help directly to get with Game MC
