It looks like he is nobility and has an entire platoon serving his family, so he already has the allies thing covered. He has the evil eye debuff though - people are prejudiced against him. I bet if he tried to be an influential person himself, he'll just be feared and culled. Making friends would be tough, but learning skills for fighting is playing to his strengths.
