@kajarainbow I never heard of "gender euphoria" but that really does sum up Minami's experience pretty succinctly. As to cisgender men, usually at most they're
indifferent to the idea of having a situation like Minami's. Like at most they'll joke about locking themselves in a bathroom for about an hour and then not caring or seeing any point to the whole thing. When I see cisgender guys respond with deflection or hostility to the idea they too might wish they could have a gift like Minami's (even if they're regularly consuming gender bender manga) I tend to quirk an eyebrow.
And yeah, Akira's got it rough. I get the sense of someone who would have gender euphoria but is REALLY repressed about letting themselves experience it, even with the powers they have. That's a big mood for me because I've been like that for many years myself. (even my roleplay characters would try to play up a tomboy angle ten years back and I cringe when I reflect on it)
And yeah, like you said, this manga is gonna have a mixed audience and there's no reason we can't all enjoy it. No one needs to attempt to shame anyone from doing so. And if someone
tries to shame you, block them and never
ever undo it. No matter how tempting it might seem seeing "This post is hidden because you blocked (rando butthole)" and wondering what they could possibly be saying. It's nothing worth reading and never will be.
Still, Pretty much all discussion of this manga is valid and I'm way cool with people talking about typical "x is my waifu" or meme shitposting stuff as I am our more gender-identity stuff. Seriously, it's all good, there is no territory war. You're valid by default. No one's gonna jump on your back so long as you aren't using that one word.
