Mephisto found his purpose as a guide again in Iruma, which has the same aspiration and way of thinking like Delkira. Such a wholsesome chapter.

I thought Mephisto will flip because of what Iruma did for the Many-Ears, but instead he found his light and offer his services as guide.

Looks like Iruma is gathering friends (allies) over the 13 crowns. From Amuryllis, Bachiko and now Mephisto. I think also Azazel Henri?

Iruma helped Mephisto regain his purpose/ambition to be a kingmaker as well as a counselor.

I also believe that Mephisto will support Iruma in his path to become a demon king.

I believe that members of the 13 crowns that will support Iruma as a demon king, excluding Lord Sullivan aka Iruma's grandfather, would be Amarylis; Bachiko; I think Paimon and Henri.

I also wonder how Mephisto will react when they find out that Iruma is a human.

Yeah, it was a really cool twist to the usual formula, especially since not being like Delkira is what'll make Iruma appealing to Mephisto as a king candidate. It's honestly been pretty cool to see a Demon that wasn't a fan of Delkira and his style of leadership, it's been an interesting way of getting more information about who Delkira was and how he ruled.
the six fingers also didn't were fans of Delkira' management as what they want is chaos and Delkira even if chaotic could control anything, like he likes chaos but not anarchy.
I mean, as long as he found someone to lead when he's gone, I wonder if Mephisto will drop that question next chapter and Irum will realize he forgot that part 😂
just had to look for it 'cause I wasn't sure, but Mephisto asked him to make a country there, the answer that he wants is for Iruma to select a King there and not be the king himself (which he hasn't hinted to Iruma directly).
I like how Iruma acknowledges that his desire to not let anything or anyone slip through the cracks is greedy, it shows that he's not as naive as some people make him out to be, and it works with some of the traits that demons look for in their leaders. Yeah he might be working in a manner that seems selfless because Iruma desires everyone to be happy, but even that can be a source of greed, in a sense, because it's still what Iruma desires, sometimes at the expense of others (those that want the status quo to remain the same, for example.) It's an interesting concept really, selfless greed, it seems contradictory at first, but it makes sense when you consider it from the perspective of someone that finds joy in the happiness of others. Honestly, Iruma's acknowledgement that his path is quite greedy makes me even more interested to see the final confrontation with Kirio since this means that Iruma knows he's not acting on some grandiose hero's path, but his own personal self-interest in seeing Kirio return to the club.
I'm with you there and the person that put that seed on Iruma is Ameri, our girl gave Iruma that was still a fully human, to start thinking that the demons desire and aspirations are not a bad thing and that he should also embrace. The rest of the cast has helped him across the series too, but I would say the most important so far has been Ameri.
ps. funny that all the comments are from different post, you shared a lot of good points :bocchiwave::bocchiwave::win::clap:

Mephisto is going to have a funny fight with Azz Azz for the spot of Iruma's right hand hahaha.

It's a nice callback to the dinner with the thirteens that Iruma and the other heroes grandchildren had went to. The thirteens had stated that the best way to understand a demon is through dinner and seeing how the demon in question ate their meal. One of the grandchildren was neat and creative with how they organized their food; however when it came to foods that they didn't like, they pushed it off to the other grandchild who ate everything voraciously and sloppily which he affirmed would be the way everyone would eat. This contrasted greatly with Iruma who ate everything neatly without losing his manners, and even to the shock of the other demons requested more with earnestly.

As such, this shown that the first grandchild has an ideal image of how he'll rule the demon world, and while it may be effective to a degree, it has a clear bias and favoritism streak meaning that only the demons that he favors would thrive, while the others would be discarded and left to fend for themselves or worse. The second grandchild while being more accepting would be far more tyrannical and forcing others to follow his way regardless of the outcome or reason, which in turn would turn the demon world upside it's head with there being no order except for his own. In the case of Iruma, it's shown that he not only has an image of the Demon world, but it's an image where everyone is accepted without limit or pause, and yet orderly enough where none would be wasted or restricted. And that he intends to understand and assist them, so that they can all reach their truest potential for which he'd savor.

Thanks for the chapter!

Typos & edit suggestions: @Waffleidle
  • p11 me heart -> my heart
  • p11 No one can decide something's value. -> [Not knowing the original, purely from context:] Nobody's value can be determined by someone else. // Your value can't be determined by someone else. [or similar] [Also, if this line is edited, then "I was mistaken in that" might also need to be edited]
  • p14-15 pick up -> [This phrase feels a bit awkward. The idea is that Iruma is greedy, so maybe something like "obtain" would fit better?]
  • p15-16 discard -> [Again, this phrasing feels a bit awkward for Iruma's greed. What about something like "I don't want to let go of anything" or "I don't want to let anything slip through my fingers" // "slip through my grasp"?]
  • p17 I want to go lots of places -> I want to go to lots of places // I want to visit lots of places

Honestly, I would like for example Mephisto to change the appearance of his body and turning into a child and to meet the Boku alliance, which includes Iruma and Purson Soi and Shax Lied. In short, for Mephisto to interact with Purson Soi and Shax Lied.

I've really liked this arc. I feel like Iruma shines the most when he's extending a helping hand to others, because he knows how it feels to be at rock bottom. All because of his dirt bag parents.

That said, I'm so hyped for the new manga by this author and the Act-Age artist.

It's already in the jump app with 2 chapters, I would say it started pretty on point with this author humor and I would also add that it was well received too.

It's already out? I need to get on it then. I haven't sorted "New" on the Viz website for a while and tend to just read One Piece there these days lol.

With that Iruma passed this test and gained an advisor. Though the many ears are still far from being independent.

Rome wasn't built in a day. I know that last chapter, a bunch of people were bemoaning the fact that the carrot farming solution was just going to keep most of the many ears shackled to the new industry, but people were missing the forest for the trees.

No one is truly 100% independent, since everyone has to depend on some kind of necessity that is provided from other sources; even the most powerful demons need food that's grown & cultivated by someone else. Iruma's point wasn't to give the Many Ears to be completely free from needing any other demon, but something else that they can do that isn't completely dependent on needing other demons to take care of them directly.

And, importantly, it allows for the chance for those in the tribe who want to pursue their own interests a chance, like the kids from chap 360, a chance to do so since they'll have the freedom to pursue those goals without worrying about how the whole of the tribe would suffer without them.
