For Azz, I’m guessing it has to do with his mother being a succubus. Family bloodlines and all.

For Clara, I think it ties into a note from a prior chapter - she’s never shown off her wings, and is embarrassed even thinking of doing so.

I would not be surprised if Clara wings it's just regular wings but because of baaam and badaradam she is embarrassed

5.5? I'm guessing he's not giving him a full passing grade because Mephisto had to step in at the end to squash the border patrol from ruining the "king" he had established?

Either that or it's a BS excuse so Mephisto has more reason to hang around Iruma and give him the full rank to 6.

He wouldn't need to do that if one of the 13 didn't try to step in too in the first place.

I kind of expected the results of the Scala to be disappointing chiefly because Iruma didn’t actually do the task he was asked, so I’m glad he wasn’t given the rank up

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. He did too much to not receive anything, but he didn't quite do enough himself to really prove he deserved the promotion either and both Baal, Narnia, the other 2 elders and some other members of the 13 crowns have plenty of reason to scrutinize Iruma's test such that he would have needed to do quite a bit more to earn the full rank (since Iruma is in the Demon King competition alongside the grandsons of the other two greats and the nominees of any of the 13 crowns who are also getting in on the action.)

5.5 ranking aside for a second- WHAT IF I CRY??? OVER HOW SWEET OPERA IS??? Aw man I adored getting a little bit of insight on exactly how Opera themself sees Iruma, and how that has changed over the series in general. We all already knew for a long time that they're family, but there's still something so special in having them say it out loud. It's all just so sweet, argh, I love it so much ;;; (also Opera's "listen to me- I am STRONG" like hell yeah you are lol)
