I feel like that moment was right then, that Ameri and her father started crying together which made Merize cry.

It's very sad what happened. Merize through the subconscious vaguely remembers what happened to her, that's how she created the memories of her first love. And most likely the one who wanted humans and demons to coexist together that Kushinashi mentions is most likely Derkila. As an idea, Ameri's reaction was understandable/expected because she finally found out what happened to her mother. And what happened in the present with Kushinashi and Knightwalker.

Another fantastic arc. Probably one of my favorites of the series and it doesn't even involve Iruma. I cried multiple times reading it. I bow to Nishi's ability to make me laugh or cry depending on the chapter.

Yes, i remember (technically, it still isn't 100% confirmed that the author is Merize, but implications are too thick to consider otherwise).
I'm not saying that Merize is Iruma's mother. But, it's not entirely impossible either (though that definitely would require a few convoluted (for my taste) plot developments).

Spoiler: Personally,

I'm fine with a theory that similarities between Iruma and Merize were made to draw parallel between Iruma-Ameri and Merize-Henri pairs.
