Congratulations Narnia, you sold yourself to get promoted, now the greater evils in the world want you to do something you don't want to do. Bend over and enjoy karma, you b!tch.

I'm actually surprised Opera was kept in the same bottle as Iruma, but I suppose not many can stop a rank 7/8(?) demon in Opera.
Opera is likely 9 considering they scare Kalego even to this day and Kalego cannot go against their directives in many instances.

No no, it's his daughter's turn.
An opportunity she will take on with a gusto.

I understand that what you said referring to the fact that Nightwalker could also say to Narnia in the following chapter: Thanks to me and Baal, you have been promoted and become part of the 13 crowns. But now you must repay us for the service I have done/pay off your debt to us and bring Iruma to us. Which for Narnia is totally against this/does not agree with this.

Pretty sure Narnia got played by Baal, and that his dad is the actual force Baal aligned with.

Whether Baal or Knightwalker are the big mastermind, or if they just use each other like Baal and Narnia did, is unclear as of yet though.

It sorta reminds me of politics in a way, in that the politicians who are assholes but at least sensible end up working with literal Nazis

I don't remember Naberius and Narnia. Who are they exactly?
Narnia: kalego's brother. 2nd in command at demon border patrol and recent 13 crowns member. Wants to deport all humans.
Nightwalker (old fuck in the wheel chair): kalego and Narnia's dad. Former 13 crown and former demon border patrol head. wants to experiment on humans

Henry is in "Let's see and find a way to save my future son-in-law" mode. From what we understand in this chapter, Narnia is in a hurry to send Iruma back to the human world, presumably to prevent Baal from getting his hands on Iruma. Nightwalker, however, doesn't seem to be of the same opinion. I'm not surprised that Nightwalker is collaborating with Baal, and that he's also the person behind the disappearance and the experiments on demons like Behemolt

Besides the Naberius family plot, I have been wondering for a while now about the significance of all the food that Iruma has been devouring. With so many connections in character names to older mythology and devil stories, there are also stories where people become trapped in the underworld due to having consumed tiny portions of food there. With the constant stream of food Opera and Sullivan have been providing him with, could that have also been a way of assimilating his body to their world so he doesn’t fall ill like Merize did? :thonk:

Kalego's older sibling and father. one wants to experiment on humans with nazi style flair. the other is kind of a middle child and seemed to be a bad guy but based on this interaction i think he just wants to keep the status quo and wants iruma out of the netherworld before his older brother can break the world with human enhanced primal demons

Those eyes are the sign of trauma, Narnia is traumatised by his father. Whatever Knightwalker did severely affected Narnia’s personality now. I think Narnia just wants to prevent the demon world from falling apart. He doesn’t want lower demons rise and rebel nor does he want higher rank demons cause chaos. He’s trying to make Iruma leave so it doesn’t start a war.

ohhhhh what a twist of a chapter to get for my birthday indeed! immensely curious to see where things go from here in terms of the rush to have Iruma leave and the reasons why they're pushing for it so bad. And of course- the fear of what experiments could be done...

This chapter kind of drove the point, Narnia is not wrong in deporting iruma because demons will fight and wage war over him. Now I wonder if Narnina is doing this before the other side could get there hands on him. Which too me would fall in line in his belief protect the netherworld.
