I’m willing to bet the mom, if she was human, came VERY CLOSE to death. To prevent further harm, he sent her back to Earth with her mind wiped.

That probably fuels his desire to just exile humans instead of killing them, and is something he doesn’t want his daughter experiencing.

Oh, I definitely was more than just on to something, I full on predicted it years before we found it out! Not only was that a memory of his wife but that she was truly a human in disguise!

Just started to reread the series a few days ago and completely forgotten that I even had that theory of mine until now. Granted, it has been about 2-3 years since I initially read this chapter, so it wouldn't be too far fetched that I may have forgotten about this comment, especially with what has been happening in the most recent chapters.
