You can read the raw LN. I read to the end. There are several more arcs. I thought there was a lot of interesting ways to expand the story, but sadly it narrowed down to a few specific ideas. And as most Japanese stories go, things get very unbelievable towards the end.

Don't know whether the manga is axed or not. But I picked up the webnovel and it's quite good, found the translations via novelupdates. In the novel this is around ch45, there are 128 chapters translated already. Without spoilering, i say i like it, never thought i'd see the Welrod Pistol from Sniper Elite make an appearance in a japanese light novel

@kipi Maybe the manga got axed? All I can say is that the story itself continues on to end on a unsatisfying note unless the author added more story after the last WN chapter (from a few years ago)
