I think it'd be funny if his only interactions with her are similar to those of a prisoner and a guard, maximum vigilance.

Would be neat to see her frustrated from lack of progress due to her own hostile-appearing actions.

Demon King daddy caved in to his little baby girl's request to marry the hero, didn't he?
I mean he did send her and say they could kill her for all he cared.

"Fine! Not gunna listen to your dad? Go get yourself KILLED!"

Is how saw that play out.

But given this whole situation playing out, I'd say shes a DEMON... but uh- yeah. Yeah she is. Checks out I suppose lol

Right now Schmerz isn't an actual character, so I'm hoping to see what his real personality is once the walls between them start to break down. However, if it turns out that Liselotte will be the only focus and the hero stays generic, then I probably won't be staying. A relationship is only as interesting as both of the people in it, so we can't have any slackers here.

The humans having a negative opinion to Lieselotte makes sense, humans were not bothering demons, then suddenly the demon kingdom attacked. Lieselotte will have the process of changing people's minds to achieve peace between the races and kingdoms.

Schmerz seems to be the serious type, but knows how to turn that off and be able to help people smile. In other words, a definite hero type I like those types, even if he did not trust Lieselotte, he instinctively tries to protect her from the guard even if she didn't need it. I can understand why she fell in love with Schmerz with as little characterization he got.

I think this would be more compelling if, for once, it was the other way around. "The demon lord/demon lord's daughter secretly loves the hero" has been so overdone I immediately predicted it from the start. It's played out.

Let's see the inverse. Make the hero the one who's secretly enamored with the demon lord's daughter, but ashamed of his feelings for her because, well, she's a demon and thus his enemy. But then the demon lord comes to them with a proposition and he accepts as it's his duty, while also secretly happy, but still very reluctant because of his conflicting feelings and his knowledge that this is just a political marriage from her part. As for her, SHE'S the one who is just "doing her duty" for the sake of peace, and slowly falls in love with him and humans as a result.

I think that would make a more engaging plot than making the girl being the one holding the torch for the billionth time. And, yes, it's possible that the hero will also secretly having feelings- but even if that turns out to be the case, it's still not as engaging imo as a one-sided romance where the heroine has to be the one won over, for once.
