Building out the hero a bit, I expect it to be the usual crooked politicking and power abuse. Maybe even a sprinkling of artificially keeping up tension between the humans and the demons. I can’t really tell what direction the resolution of these things will be, I think Lily will be the key to understanding where the human world will go.

It feels like forever since I read this series but I think the speculated reality is that the father was colluding with the demons. I would assume thats why the MC was picked to be the tutor to begin with.

after the death of their parents the orphanage he was burned by some soliders (IIRC they were linked to the hero), killing the other children (almost, as there is a strong implication the maid was that girl that become close to him ) in the process.
So either that was a third party, or I strongly doubt this was the reason Lux trained Frey

The demon king mentioned that he has met MC's father, and that hating the demon king seems to run in their blood line, so for now it seems more plausible that MC's father would not have betrayed humanity or colluded with demons.
