So after reading through the chapter twice, I just realized that Julia never let Romm know she could see smaller spirits.
As far as he knows, she's just a girl who "thought he was a fraud, but is glad he's actually real" after almost falling to her death after being warned. She never mentioned that she could see spirits (not that he would necessarily believe her given the kind of hacks who show up to his testing sessions).

Would be interesting to know if his reaction would have been different had he realized she was a medium (albeit a relatively weak one). Although she might be as strong as Mitsue used to be as a child, since it was only recently that she could even sort of see the strong ones (Romm was surprised when she was able to see the strong one in the alleyway a few chapters back).

I think he can see the smaller spirits just fine. He's just more focused on the stronger spirits during the tour because he's testing his items on them.
That's why Julia thinks he's a fraud. She can't see the strong spirits that's he's using for testing purposes.

Hmmm, looks like the guy is just trying to find a way to get rid of the ghosts as well and is like Mieruko in how he tries to avoid their gazes.
Interesting plot development.

It would be a perfect cover by Romm to be a conman so that he can convince the spirits that he can't actually see anything while still being able to protect himself.

That being said, if he could see these as vividly and for as long as Miko could, which it seems he could... I could see why he'd go completely and utterly insane, too, or at least be an inch away from losing his sanity.

Also, Romm seems to have had an encounter with the same "shrine" that Miko did...

Romm can see aura and all kind of spirits, unlike Julia and Miko.

Not to mention being able to test all those magic items without yhe ghost knowledge. And all the location that he went are those with bad history. Maybe he's also trying to exorcise the lingering spirits there as well. Possibly related to the fox shrine spirits? He has to exorcise all those spirits in return for the foxes protection in the past? So many questions

@NamelessSoldier yeah since the there are plenty of spirits that seem somewhat communal it wouldn't take long for the smarter stronger spirit to hear about a human who can purify spirits with great accuracy probably means he can see their forms not just presence.

So Romm was actually testing all those tools out on real spirits, which Julia couldn't see. Could the people on the tour actually see the spirits then or were they pretending still?

@Cheeah they were emphasizing that theyre all fakes who are only making things up for the most part, thats why they couldnt see the significance of them in the last panel considering how people were complaining about the products

thank you for the chapter, though I question whether or not he can see that big ghost since he only seemed to be aware of it via his stones splitting rather then actually seeing it. It was great to see Julia again.
