If we're being honest, force persuasion/mind trick is not any less creepy. There are entire organizations with techniques and shit specifically designed to prevent it from happening to them in the Star Wars universe because it's totally not something people are cool with having done to them, ever. It might be helpful in preventing violent situations and stuff for the Jedi, but it's still a subversion of someone's normal free will.
