Getting to the good parts soon here, glad to see what that card looks like now since it was left vague before. I do wonder why they skipped the little bit of explanation that so many people dropped out/gave him an automatic win was because they saw how brutal matches can actually be.

Unlike our MC, most people don't name their cards or even if they did, have the means to revive them if they die so all of a sudden your werewolf card or something get its head cut off in an exhibition match, you're screwed. No more card and likely no adventure's license.

It's something that's decided between the participants.
The Authorities don't bother, because for them they are giving 1 Rank D card to each Top 4.
So, as long as each player gets one, that's enough for them.

And as MC theorized, the whole situation seems to be more on tension build-up and promotion, as apparently the Organisers believe that MC is going to lose (because he is a Mob-type), while the finals would be between the Girl & the Good-looking Guy.
