Not in this title. This story is one where the author specifically wrote the MC to have a clock (time) related special skill, but in practice his actual powers have very little to do with time, making it all nothing but wasted potential. So, no, the author's skill and imagination aren't sufficient for anything new at all. At least the manga artist is good enough, even if the original story leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Why is it that Guild clerks are never fired or severe reprimanded for doing dumb shit like this in Mangas?

I get that it's often to force a confrontation or duel, but seriously, there needs to be some sort of punishment for it to be believable, otherwise it just looks lazy.
