I enjoyed this rendition more than the anime. There was more expressive emotions, and the feelings of the characters were more clear while still getting the impression they were getting from others.

The mainline manga is the opposite, in my opinion. While I enjoy it, the anime does it so much better.

I love the Mushoku Tensei anime a lot. Miles and miles more than the main manga series. However, I won’t lie when I say I was extremely frustrated with how lackadaisically the anime handled the Depressed Magician story arc, even if there were complicated circumstances related to that dilemma.

So if anything, I’m extremely happy and thankful that the arc is done so much justice here, even if it’s not perfect by any means.
