I'm actually kinda surprised here, although Walm is experienced and more mature than the heroes, he made them look like light work. Hoping to see the aftermath, this manga takes a bit from berserk as a dark fantasy, which I quite like.

My guess for why he made light work of them is because before he got his powers he was just a regular soldier so he had to learn how to fight with such strong opponents with powers and because of that he's not only got the same power he has as them, but also has more experience with fighting such opponents.

The Heroes probably had their powers since the beginning and just used them to overwhelm their opponents.

From what I can see, yes. I think it was a "If I protect the healer, these two can get patched up." sort of trade. I am sure a WN/LN reader will pop in and explain it better though.

walm was gonna hit the healer with the fire and the commander had to use her ice to block it, i guess the reaction from both magics colliding caused it to explode and hit the other two heroes

Walm is already a wanted person (sort of), captain being care about his surrounding when fighting walm will lead him to be killed. In the other hand he do tell them "you better duck or becom" collateral damage)

You see the women captain ran away first, the situation is probably really worst out there, mean the captain waste his time fighting walm instead of retreat that's why he left ayame

Yeah, that's why I said that he was more experienced. But in fantasy stories, usually overpowered abilities win most of the time even if the user is a newbie. I expected him to get heavily ambushed here by them.
