I really didn't like this chapter. (I don't mean the translation, the translation is as good as always.)
Having ninjas and ninjutsu be fake is kinda lame, it'd be more interesting if they were actually real. Also the way they're removing the guilt of killing the pursuers by saying that they were fated to die any way and also having reincarnation be a thing so all the murders kinda don't matter either. I liked that Konoha and Satoko were just unapologetically murderers.
As well, why are Konoha and Satoko so chill with the village chief. She has sent countless ninja after them, broke Satoko's self confidence and prevented her from remembering anyone's face until she fled, and is going to stop them from reincarnating.
Finally, that foreshadowing is a bit too obvious is it not? I wont elaborate in case someone didn't notice but it is so blatant.
I mean, it is really up to how you look at it, and while I respect your vision of situation, allow me to try paint how it looks from my perspective
Ninjas and Ninjutsu were never fake, or always fake, depending on how you look at it, as far as I remember we never seen them do any non unique ninjutsu, displays of stealth, acrobatics and physical strength are something you can learn to do, however each Ninja had their own Ninjutsu, that them and only them could use, so being ninja and using ninjutsu are simply fancier name for being special people with their special abilities, so they Are as real as we always seen them be
I don't think either Konoha or Satoko ever had any guilt in killing pursuers, Konoha only shown guilt in killing innocents, and Satoko is airheaded enough to not think about it, so there was nothing to erase, and while Satoko is quite so unapologetic murderer, she lacks common sense on that part, Konoha never was unapologotec Murderer, she just puts her end goal higher than the cost in guilt
I don't see problem with reincarnation, have you ever thought what is reincarnation? For a normal human? You die, you lose connections to all your loved ones, you lose your memories something that truly make you you, you life is ended, it is still death, the only positive news is that you didn't face eternal nothing or hell after that death, there is no other positive news, reincarnation does not make death any less heavy or undesirable. There was a similar topic in one great game, where the world was ending, and there was the only two ways to save the people living in that world, both are horiible in their own way, but one was exactly this, reincarnation, kill every citizen of the world, to transport their souls to the currently safe world, do you think everyone just agreed to that? Hell no, people didn't want to die, didn't want to be killed and sent god knows where with nothing that mattered to them along them, they stood against, they fought for their lives, they begged mercy or cursed the "Saviors" until their dying breath, it was in no way "Death doesn't matter now"
Why should they not be chill? Murdering everyone left and right is not exactly their motto, they do it when they need to, either for self defence or money, Satoko does not wish revenge, Chief is not attacking them, and may Chief's action be cruel, Satoko may actually have power to just leaf whole planet if her powers were out of check, so it is a situation where you may not agree, but you may still understand why, also killing someone because they are going to stop you from reincarnating, ehhhh, it is not really immediate danger, both Satoko and Konoha don't exactly fear death, they may currently only fear each other dying before all ther goals and dreams being finished, if they really want to stop Chief they can go do that later
Obviously it is all my side of view, if it didn't change yours it is completely okay, you gave me nice excuse to let out some thoughts current
