it's like he's know he's wrong and you can tell he regrets it a little bit when he turns away and his character turns into a figure crying, but this is all he knows. his parents have only taught him how to hurt others and themselves in the process. it makes me all the more curious to see where this all leads to. I think I've stated before how everyone in this story has had their main story long finished. But obviously, Haejoon being the main character developed a lot and that took up time. But everyone else has their arc early on and finished early on. Yet, for some reason we keep seeing Eunyung's story only grow more and more complex and distorted while everyone gets their solved.

it makes me wonder, what's going to be the end? Hell, we almost saw several times where I thought his arc was over. And yet, we keep seeing EUnyung fall down to the cycle of abuse he's had from the beginning. It's like we see him for the trash he was at the beginning, see him improve, see him thrive, just to see him fall again and again and again.

And interestingly, most of his story ends up with him and his relationship with Haejoon. Where they fight and butt heads, but ultimately Haejoon is the only person Eunyung can open up to and will genuinely listen to his advice. He reluctantly looks up to Haejoon and that's why despite it all, he keeps helping out Haejoon. But even with all of this, we still see Eunyung fall down despite all of Haejoon's efforts. So what's the purpose of all of this?

I just wanna know what about Eunyung's story needs to be told that it's basically prolonging the story from it's very close end. I thought I could guess what the end of no home was going to be, but honestly I'm not really sure anymore. Of course I love Eunyung, so I love seeing him full time now, but I just don't know how this story is trying to end.
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Eunyung's central conflict isn't something centered around a singular problem that can be fixed, but a domino effect that spirals from his abuse. He has multiple arcs because he has multiple issues that stem from his home life and upbringing, and they have been tackled one by one and slowly. Even though his home situation is very similar to Marie's for example, there is a key difference in that Marie was biding her time to leave home and waited for a good opportunity to get permission from her father to leave, while Eunyung has been leaving and doing things all on his own this whole time, without his parent's approval or support.

This current arc seems to be tackling his relationship with his parents in a way that the Eunyung Baek's Home arc couldn't - because Eunyung has been thriving in a way he never has before, he feels compelled to stick it to his parents and show off his progress and independance since he never had this opportunity to prior. This ofc leads to the mess that has been the last few chapters. In a way this feels like his final hurdle - he has to face the fact that he will never be satisfied or feel the gratification he thinks he'd feel bringing pain to his parents and has to move on and look towards the future for good. At the same time though, I think his parents have to be dealt with separately in some way or another, because they do still hold a legal power over him and they can revoke their permission to let him work and thus be indepenent at any time; they've brought that up a few times before. Idk if the story will go that route since they seem to want to improve their habits, but its been in the back of my mind.

On another note i appreciate that this arc is going into more detail about how Eunyung ran away from home multiple times + had to come back and leave again and again and his mindset in doing so; its been mentioned before but I think it makes logical and narrative sense to delve into it now after first having an arc establishing his home life.

I lowkey feel bad for the mom and dad, i think they’re “trying” to make amends (could be wrong) and start over but they’re still the same people as before so nothing would really change, along with blondies shenanigans. Also Marie is the goat even if she hasn’t been the main person for a while.

that's the thing with asian parents — they don't realize they're wrong unless something really sticks out to them (calling them aholes don't count, they'll just say you're rebelling or talking back), and when they realized they may have fked up, they still think they were right (in a way) because they clothed, fed you and sheltered you (using money).

i don't think they'll resolve eunyung's parents issue so peacefully, or at least not anytime within the current timeline— unlike juwan's mom who was also the stereotypical asian parent at first, she doesn't have trauma to resolve like e's parents. or at least the mom.

Oooh that's a good observation— I also did think it was the end of Eunyung's arc with his parents the first time around they appeared, because it was obvious to me they won't change that easily — at least not while he's in highschool.

I imagine the ending will be them either going to college or like a big reunion post college— I haven't read the other work of Wanan but I imagine it's gonna end with a timeskip. With hopefully them doing more or less okay and no reverse progress or anything 😂

yeah, this makes a looot of sense. eunyung's issues are very complex and multi-layered, as trauma and ptsd and how abuse changes you often are. it makes sense that it can't really be resolved much less "fixed" so quickly. i really like seeing it, honestly, i don't think i've ever seen anything else explore it in this way. it's incredibly interesting (among other things) to see all the layers of it unraveled in this way

at least for now I get the part of the mom and she tried to make some amends with eunyung, the main problem is her wacko of a husband and how she let him destroy their house and even when she was starting to get a little closer to eunyung she let the husband appear again knowing he was gonna mess it all.

This is actually getting really f*cked up, they really just didnt know any better. All parents should deserve a chance at raising theyr own children but then again, there and some broken people out there that without guidance just make the world a more miserable place.

The thing about people who complain about their shitty parents, is that chances are they're not great people either. And if they were raised the same way they're way more likely than not to be just like their parents were.

uurghhhh the mom. ok i do feel bad for her OK???? i dont think what shes doing is right......... at the same time i feel bad because its clear like that the grandpa probably sa'd her or something like eeeeeowch. like owie. you only live once. YOUVE ONLY LIVED ONCE. like what the heck. that's her life...... what the heckkkk..... like now shes a broke parent with an abusive husband and you abuse your son who hates you now but you want to be happy but you treat people the way you do.
I find it interesting that she become who she is, but omg wait i forget her name uuh miyung? shoot um that girl who has a crush on haejoon. the forward girl. before we even KNOW her, we know her mom first. and the mom did NOT live a great life.... but she fought to have a family that loves her and she made it so she can eat at fancy restaurants and give everything to her daughter.
the stark difference of their parallels are insane. both have bad bad childhoods, but one changed and the other didnt.
