I dont need to be a Martian to know that the Olympus mont is the tallest and largest mountain know to man.
I dont need to live on Venus to know that no lifeform from earth can live on the planet and that even human probe get eaten by the acide in the athmosphere in a matter of minutes.
I dont need to be an ant to know that a gyne will live for decade, lay thousand and more of eggs, but will only have sex with a few different male one day in it's entire life.

There's a magnificent things born some thousand of year ago, it's called science. This thing help you understand things by having a number of people studies different field.
And one of these field consist of studying human comportement. These studies showed that physicaly and mentaly healthy men and women will want to have kids. This come from the simple fact that human are animals, and that ALL animal are made to, and will want to, keep their specie alive. This is the only reason why all healthy people feel sexual attraction.
And because of this, men and women alike will want to have kids, as long as they are not totaly brainwashed by a religion or a polticial belief.

Maybe the author is only experienced with the design part of videogames, not the programming or 3D modeling, or maybe it's an attempt to simplify for the audience, but their explanation is totally wrong.

A shader isn't a "program to make 3D shadows", it's a bit of code that runs on the graphic card and tell how to render a texture. That's what's used to make a 3D model or 2D sprites look transparent, wireframe, shiny, glowing, etc... You can even use shader to make grass look like it move with the wind, without actually animating the grass model.

A "program to colour in a 3D model" would have been better (if not perferct) for a short explanation.

Well, i believe the slow progress goes along with what was said at the very beginning: "friendship between a man and a woman is possible" so they're focusing more on the friendship, but also, there's no point on just leaving it at that point and making a whole story about it, that's why I think it is slow

This is the first time I ever feel the need to comment on mangadex. Ok so. Shaders. They're code that gets executed as the graphics are being processed sorta. There's several types of them, like vertex shaders, fragment shaders, geometry shaders and so on (first 2 are the most relevant probably). Basically, you give them information about the vertices of the triangles that make up your images. The vertex shader processes that info and you can change stuff about the vertices. Then the fragment shader does the rasterization and stuff (baiscally it goes like: ok so which pixels are contained within this triangle made of the vertices you gave me and which color do I give them?) so you can set color, do textures and more. The rest is more complicated but that's the short of it, you can do a lot more than just shadows and lights with them.
