I agree with you on your points in response to the other guy, but if we look at this from a practical and more meta point of view:

What exactly would the point of making a romcom, where one of the main characters is incapable of romance, be? Like sure, you could do that, but why would you? That's like the worst of both worlds, imo.

We don't get any thoughtful examination of the aromantic individual and beyond that, it would be frustrating because they never get any peace or are allowed to just exist in the way they'd like to as a result of the other party; then on the other hand, the romantically interested individual is incapable of making any romantic progress, and as a result of falling in love with someone who literally cannot reciprocate, finds themselves doomed to heartbreak.

Idk about you, but both of those outcomes seem super ass to me.

Maybe in a more overtly serious manga, a more nuanced manga, it could work, but the tone of this so far would clash extremely hard with the lategame "yeah Rihito just can't fall in love at all actually" reveal
There is the person sexual trope, where the character isn't physically or romantically attracted to people other than the other lead.

I don't think he is aro/ace at all. I was just providing some possible context and information to someone who is clearly over reacting to a possible theory.

I do agree this manga is not nuanced enough to really present what an aro/ace character would be like or how someone who would be interested in them (even more so for someone as dependent as nao) would have to work out their feelings to some how have a relation ship with them.

He just comes off as emotionally calm person to me. The type who if they didnt like the person they wouldn't interact with them above the bare minimum necessary.

The obvious outcome is they are gonna end up together but we could end up in a situation where it will take 400 chapters as some of these types of manga do.

Nobody sane likes western lgbt garbage and I'm tired of pretending. I hate seeing it forcefully shoved in japanese media where it doesn't belong.

"Demisexual" is literally just being normal and not a whore, if that's the thing you are thinking of.
Wow... It's just a non stop shitshow

And here, my friends, we are witnessing a masterclass of "I can fix her", what seemed to be impossible is now within reality's reach. Stay tuned for more!

There have been lgbt themes in manga forever dont act like its only existed since modern marvel.

Aro/ace people can also get embarrassed by things like that due to being influenced by societies perceptions of it getting embarrassed by it isnt the same as being attracted to it.

Though if he is just Aro then he reaction is normal anyway he just wont ever be romantically interested in her.
Yea, but in japan nobody cares that these themes are lgbt. They are just, normal themes

No I think knowing her all-time terrible luck with bfs it's obvious she started asking for a friend back then and not a partner because trust issues. But now she realized how special her friend is that she doesn't want this bond to break from upgrading to something more special, that's why she keeps behaving like this, but she doesn't consciously realize this, and not even him too because he doesn't have that much feelings but has care.

I like their journey so far.

He will actually get shanked if he ever actually dates her and then glances at any other girl for even a second.
No no no ! Noa will instead immediatly assume that’s she ’s not good enough for him and do something drastic, stupid and drastically stupid.

~30 chapters ago, I was in  love with this manga. Lately though, I can't help but feel it's spinning its wheels. It feels like we got locked onto the common route in a VN.

I really liked Rihito as a character, especially in comparison to most male leads, but I feel that the mangaka has made him stagnant. We're 80 chapters in, and he still acts like it's bothersome to call Noa a close friend. I just want to see the man express some emotions other than irritation and boredom.

I need some character development for the both of them, man. The "will they won't they" slow burn doesn't work if you never give your male lead even a hint of romantic interest.

I truly don't see how they could convincingly set up romantic undertones right now, because even in Rihito's thoughts he expresses no interest in Noa. As it stands, the author is neglecting to write their romantic chemistry... in a ROMCOM.
