I would say that they're augmenting their wings with magic to fly, and are more reptile than bird, so probably weigh a fair amount.

As for the bat hanging around, I disagree. I think he needs to be turned into charcoal. Maybe the helper that is grabbing the sword and the priestess is redeemable.

My prediction was that either by accident while trying to protect it or with no choice because the vampire was too strong or brought reinforcements, our cute half-oni MC would hold the demon lord's sword, being chosen but also revealing that she is no human because any human who touched it supposedly melted.
