Why did the MC forego pants?

Realized in chapter 5.2 either the mc has pants on and they're just suffering from no color or their legs have pant creases

Man, am I supposed to feel good about them being buddy-buddy with slaver brutes? Again, the fuck is this?

What the fuck kind of moral compass is this? Did MC risk their life to kill the demon lord in their last life just because they were a battle junkie or something?

Should I be reading this like a yakuza flick where you just gloss over all the horrible crimes and treat everyone like honorable best buddies? Why did we start by showing the slavery then though??
