I find it so hard to believe the author is a woman, the alternative is her being brought up in a terrible household which is even worse. The build up in this recent chapters are so bad, such a cheap trick to have the crazy mum and daughter portrayed as nice, yet manipulative. Weak writing.

If not for our perspective (and the way things are illustrated/presented) this scene would land differently. It would seem genuine. That's what makes the manipulation so much more believable.

It's also interesting how the daughter moves to separate Hiroto from his sister (helping to set the stage for her mother) and how the mother integrates this new information regarding his sister's pregnancy into her plan. The mother and daughter work together seamlessly. Additionally, the secret works as leverage for further manipulation in the future.

What I'm curious about is how this will factor into the original plan. Are they looking to build a big family? What do they want to do with this family? There is still a lot of information to be elucidated.

"Man you're gonna have a terrible life, YEETUS DELETUS THE FETUS" sounds like eugenics to me.

There's people born into a good household but end up terrible people, and there's people born into terrible ones but end up great.

The circumstances of a person's birth are irrelevant, what is relevant is the choices that person makes.
