Honestly, dude, I don't either. I'm not Indonesia, and I thought that is was how Indonesian spell it.
In Malaysia we spell it as Membazir.

Considering that Malay/Indonesia have many borrowed words from various languages, so I'm not surprise if that is the case.
BTW, do Indonesian have other word beside Mubazir but have the same meaning? I'm just asking because you said it was an archaic word.

@alexsdu i'd use "rugi" or "sia-sia". i really never saw or hear anyone use "mubazir". i actually had to google it.

thought i wouldn't be too surprised if anyone from the "Shariah State" of Aceh uses it. those guys are the biggest arab fanboys in the whole country i reckon.
