If you're at all curious why, errors like that happen because the MTL scanner reads the lowercase "tsu" used for emphasis as an uppercase "tsu", turning simple sounds/vocalizations into full words.

TBF we've had trouble with some groups AI-scanlating josei and shoujo manga (badly) and then holding back chapters to draw people to their paywalled sites, so I kinda don't blame them for having soured on the whole thing and assuming bad faith. Plus people these days also read scans to get away from publishers switching to AI here and there.

The problem is that the previous uploader wrote an entire page explaining his reasoning for the upload and explicitly stated that he welcomes people that can do a better job than him to do so because he lacks the skills to do it justice. That page was in every upload of his on this series and he only uploaded chapters that were ignored. So, I don't really see how can anybody assume it was done in bad faith unless they didn't bother reading it

In fairness, SPORTS was hilarious. It was overtly wrong, but hilarious nonetheless and my life is better for having seen it.

I am the one who called out the wrong translation and explained what the correct one would be, and the response he gave me was of understanding and appreciation for the correction.

It's not even that people didn't read his page, it's also that they didn't even see his replies in the chapter he translated. Dude's pretty chill.

Dude is probably super nice, even if I haven't met him myself. I doubt he wanted that whole blow-up over the four letter word. I mean that he refers to Mahiro as "she" in the notes? I do not pick fights over Mahiro's gender like some do online. (because I honestly think any pronoun works for this character)
But I always interpret people calling Mahiro "she" as a gesture they believe internal gender can shift. That's not a small thing, I appreciate it a lot. You gotta take the W's and the friends where you find them.
