Ushio Shio just finished another asexual-spectrum series, so I was more surprised there was some physical affection near the end than that the two wives kept some boundaries in place. Doughnuts Under A Crescent Moon is very clear it's about two asexual women and the concept of love. Getting Married To My Female Friend is lighter and still basically an asexual couple until near the end, when we see that neither is repulsed by physical affection (Ruriko read as sex-repulsed when surprised though), and it just didn't matter until Kurumi got a bit horny.
This married couple are in love, the beds don't matter, and I think that's why it's okay to emphasize the rooms (not sure about saying it out loud to wedding guests though). When pretty much any other author ends with clear boundaries in the physical relationship it feels like it bizarrely undercuts earlier passion, cowardly dodges things, and is a hard cancellation. If it's Ushio Shio the lack of physicality is the natural character development.
Whatever this author releases next, expect asexual romance. That doesn't necessarily mean sex-repulsed. And I love how they pull it off.
