This chapter is boiling me blood. Not from how the princess acts but from the anxiety to see how the situation will be resolved.
Also, the guards acting complacent is just how the cogs work in this world, or any world really. Whenever I get news about literally anything involving people, the first thought to pop would be - Do you even think for yourself?!
In the case of bad guards, I am sure they just don't want to lose them hefty paychecks. And since the King is silent on the matter, regardless of whenever he knows or not about her imprisonment. Nobody but people from Reius care about the situation.
