Thank you so much for the chapter!!

I'm genuinely floored by this chapter. It made a point I hadn't really considered: While men tend to be encouraged outright that violence=masculinity=power=worthiness, women are also witness to this. Like incels, women can feel angry for being denied the ability to overpower others.
Here Kuroko was inspired by Gomi to become violent for the first time on page.

Gomi might fare better than Kuroko and Moyupu as far as succumbing to violence, as he did not have a history of abuse like they did and so was never normalized in is formative years.

Only problem: His insecurity. The high of physically overpowering someone attacking him might be too good for someone as self-effacing as him. Kuroko may end up as another target.

Honestly weirdly enough becoming a murderer "in self defense" actually makes Gomi look like a more normal person compared to 2 chapters ago when he was menstrual pad trashcan office bathroom masturbation affair man, and that's without the lolicon rape doujins he makes which is already can of worms waiting to be opened

Anyway Gomi is not a good guy, and Yumezora shouldn't have gotten involved with him, but what is done is done

She should bounce away from him now that her abusive husband got killed, in a way this is an opportunity for her to start fresh, everything around Gomi points towards him becoming even worse than glasses guy, since right now the only "positive" thing he has going on for his life is his toxic codependent relationship with Yumezora, and there's no way anything good can come from such a start

Dang how bad was gomi's teeth if they cracked when he grit them even /before/ he got punched?

Page 23 and knife remain me a certain someone, reincarnation time ?

Given the mood of this story the reincarnation would lead them to an even worse life lol or equally bad XD

Anyone know whether the steamed kelp is a reference to anything?

maybe it's a 'poor person food' (despite seaweed/nori soup being popular/common too) like how ppl talk about surviving on beansprouts or so unless there's an extra implication they had to fish it themselves outta the ocean

reminds me of the even if i’m not 15 manga

I think the female protag of that was slightly better off (and happier ending more or less), even tho mental health wise it's not that high a bar to cross lol

I think Kuroko is now understanding that the key to escaping abuse is to look at yourself and wanting to change. Seeing her happy and sad is a reflection of how relieved but disappointed that she figured it out at the worst possible situation.

My dad had a dead beat father growing up. He decided to be in his child's lives so he would make sure the cycle did not happen again from his grandfather. Breaking the cycle of abuse is powerful, heartbreaking, and very raw with our deepest flaws.

Still proud of Gomi for learning to stand up for himself. Wish he wouldn't get hurt but its a start!

I'm assuming she'll either kill Gomi before he turns into another abusive husband or kill herself to break the cycle.

Trauma bonding to the max. The page of her looking all sparkling is just the cover of the authors previous manga...interesting.

Is dregs a common word in Jpnese? was just listening to a JP band called Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, weird.

I saw a boxcutter and compass in there. Those can both deal damage when wielded right.
Even martial artists die to a knife, so it's a question of how far the two of them choose to escalate.
called it

Wtf no, it shows that Motoyuki stood up for her against her previous abuser like Gomi is doing now, and she is falling for the same reasons
I cannot wait until Gomi turns into a violent abuser because of the situations Kuroko intentionally creates in order to comfort herself by forcing Gomi to demonstrate that he's willing to protect her. She's the type of girl that's so desperate to feel safe she'll destroy safety to fulfill that desire. I'm about 80% confident that's where this story is going and it's going to get revealed that Moyupu went through the exact same form of psychological abuse at Kuroko's hands and that's what turned him from heroic to violent.

She forces him to demonstrate a willingness for violence to protect her over and over until he gets desensitized to violence and uses it on her.

Edit: tl;dr: I'm betting Kuroko pursues "the feeling of being protected" and NOT "the feeling of being safe" and creates problems on purpose to make Gomi protect her which slowly destroys Gomi.

Dang, I do still hope the dude is just gonna get knocked out, he seemed to be remembering his old shitty life, the usual last minute redemption bullshit, maybe he can back off for a bit and see how mc handling her.31 chapters in feels like still too early for actual murder. Gonna mega:kek: if she start to wrangle another desperate guy tho.
