The newtype uploads are at a considerably lower quality. They have significant artifacting and poor resolution. It's much more of a pain to work with, especially for redrawing, and would need to be cleaned up which naturally compromises the art at least somewhat.
The pixiv uploads, while watermarked, have absolutely zero artifacting (meaning they've come directly from the source). I'd much rather work with those personally. And again, while the watermarks are blatant, it's the author's choice to put them there. I've decided to only work with what's freely available online for this series after the publisher stepped in because of this translation.

The above is also why the volume extras are only available as translated text scripts, which I give freely to anyone who's purchased volume 1.

Yeah that's totally fair. Just wanted to be sure you knew the options you had. I think you made the right call in using what's freely available, especially given how the publishers have taken notice of this scalation.

You guys are doing a great job with this series btw. I read it in Japanese and know full well how insane the dialogue can be to translate, and you've managed to capture Kenzaki's insanity pretty well.
