In another story the previous chapter would be the climax and this one the conclusion, but in Dara-san the story just keeps going. Feels a bit weird as it would have been a fitting resolution, they found out and foiled Tsubaki's plan and the most recent chapter with the snake's head could be viewed as putting a bow on that plotline too, but it's also very much in line with the manga's tone for things to return to business as usual after all that.

Definitely Magic the Gathering with the flavor text mentioning it's based off of an overseas card game that is notoriously expensive. Plus when they have themed deck types, that's kinda a thing in MTG with their color deck types since what you can summon is based off your land types

Does Magic use dice in any mechanic... because, unless that was just a "flavor" mechanic of the card, I think this has some board system in it too.

You can build entire decks around dice rolls, in part thanks to Wizards of the Coast also owning DnD and doing several crossover cards. Presenting some favorites:

Yeah Magic uses dice, coin flips, counters, and some formats you cane even use "stickers" to change the name of some cards for different effects

I remember YuGiOh also uses coins but it was pretty rare.

Those are some interesting cards.

I am not a player of card games, but by osmosis, you get to understand a few things here and there, I can see how things could go awesomely right and horribly wrong.

I like the dwarf card in particular, in so many settings, dwarves aren't able to use most types of magic, but in this one... someone of his family helped a dragon, who gave her a piece of their power, and he inherited it.

Curious if it was "common" genetic inheritance or if his grandma consciously chose him to have the power.

When done right, even just a little bit of flavor text gives a lot to imagine.
