i see it as a "if thing were different" about our dear eel garden deity, funny enough, there a collaboration between those 2 manga, wonder if the translator will do it ?

They're bound by law, to a point. They're just playing around, and as long as things remain fun they'll stick to it. However, once that point is exceeded, they can just disregard it, as laws are a human construct and no human law can really stop them.
