So for a year this guy hasn't fucked anyone, lives in a world without internet or porn, and hasn't even asked Anna on a date let alone banged her (or just straight up banged nightingale, I think she'd be fine bring a silent mistress). Breaks my belief more than magic powers and crystals.
I hate when authors pull this "make readers wait forever for any romance progress" bullcrap. Its like there's no balance between smut comics where every chapter theres sex scenes or ones like this where there's no relationship really - its been a year, cmon really? Can't there be a realistic manga where the male mc and love interest have a normally paced romance that includes bedding (don't have to show it explicitly either) them? Do authors think if its not a smut comic the comic will end if the male MC gets anywhere with women?

and MC has been in love with each other first. It's messed up for nightingale to get in between their relationship. Would you be pissed if someone took your lover away because someone decided to say that your lover should be with someone else? ANNA ALL THE WAY.

Fuck Anna, she's trash. Her character is Girl and the reason she's attracted to MC is because he is protagonist. They were never in love because the author never developed actual romance between them, he just took the self insert main character and designed the designated moe female who is incapable of doing anything besides falling in love with the main character. The relationship itself is a messed and down right bogus.
Nightingale on the other hand manage to do something Anna never could, develope mutual respect with the MC over time. That's why there relationship feels real even if they aren't trying to write fanfiction poems of love to one another every second, it's why they can have a basic conversation with light flirtation that comes off naturally without being jarring. They have actual Chemistry, action and reaction, yin and yang-hell, she makes the MC feel like his own character instead of an imaginary meat suit for the audience to slap on and enjoy a harem of milfs and lolis.
To even stay relevant, Anna has to have fire powers that constantly evolve and progress the industrial side of the story while constantly profressing her loooooove. She's a tool. Junk food. A quick and easy needle you get from your dealer and toss into the garbage disposal after you inject the poison into your veins until you need another fix.
It's Nightingale or Nothing...not that none of the other girls are bad, but I wanted a good ending quote.

but for your understanding: you're writing it out too black-and white
admittedly, anna's character is very lackluster, and it really could have used more fluff, but:
1. just because the fluff isn't shown [though it really should be...], doesn't mean it doesn't exist
2. fairly generic girl personality isn't always literal dumpster fire, and nightingale's badass-shell type personality isn't to everyone's taste [ I don't mind it tho]
3. she's not attracted to MC literally just because he's protagonist, they've been working together for quite a while now, and MC took her in when she got abandoned completely by her family.
her bad luck for being a lady in distress, ig, along with her innocence it really does hit alot of nerves...
4. nightingale's lack of power development is actually kinda depressing, since anna's learning tons of stuff and keeping up with roland's plan, but nightingale... well...
anna's biggest issue is probably going into mary-sue territory. welp...

My Black and White Description is merely a quick summary Anna's character. It lacks depth because it is short, but the points matter.
1-Incorrect. Too much fluff is shown. It's almost to the point that the only thing they do is fluff. Where Nightingale would just offer a simple chat, interactions with Anna almost always play out as never ending vows of how much in love the characters are in one another. As if they're trying to convince themselves on top of the readers.
2-It is to me. Anna is nothing more than a basic formula at this point, far too many red flags appear as alarms in my head. Now, don't get me wrong, Nightingale is the obvious bad ass female character with trust issues. I get that. But at least. At Least. Her interactions feel genuine with the mc. I see a unique character in her and relationship between them, it's not in your face because it doesn't have to be.
3-I beg to differ for reason mentioned in point 1. Every damn conversation where they touch romantic interest on eachother just ends as romcon (romantic comedy) schlop fest. Even if the set up were there, the execution is pathetic.
4-THAT. Things like this is why I hate Anna. Ask yourself: Why? Why does this matter. Why does Nightingale need a power buff to compete with Anna? What? Because Anna had two? Maybe 3? Do not be deceived by this plot manipulation. Anna's power ups are just the author's attempt at making her relevant. A clear case of "oh look, my waifu can shoot fire, create laser beams, is very important to production, and handle a army by herself-" it's disgusting and completely misses the point. She couldn't win hearts, so now she's trying win validation. Nightingale is fine the way she is.
