We're not talking about just any glass, but high clarity glass.
Consider that optical glass(The super clear stuff used for telescopes) was literally the bleeding edge of bleeding edge of high technology, and the production process was a closely guarded secret late into the 19th century).
It's possible they have access to tinted glass, as a form of luxury decoration, but they can't make super clear stuff(and consider that the lolibaba went for the clearest marble)

The theories in this chapter were equal to nuclear weapons. Potentially Aura just handed over an item that would allow the other nation to create a magic item capable of stopping an entire invading army. But yeah, just meaninless conspiracies not worth their time. I wonder why in our world leaders pay so much attention to various countries developing nuclear weapons, huh, if that's not any more important than a girl planning to steal a merchant's purse.
