I think people upset about Raspi coming back for sake of the friendly merc party that got murked are forgetting this series is about an RPG. Especially considering we've already heard mention of the "mercenary system", I find it hard to believe that there isn't some pre-defined "recover allies" process in the original game that will be usable to save the mercenary party, as traditional RPGs don't generally have permadeath for fighting NPCs. Developers know players don't like repeatedly loading quicksaves even after they beat a boss just to prevent themselves from permanently losing a powerful asset. The hero will probably do it when he gets back to the capital, at least that's my prediction.
